If you’ve been following me for a hot minute you know that one thing is true.


I. LOVE. Halloween.


There is no better holiday. You get to be whoever you want, people give you free candy, and it has the best decor.


I mean...Christmas has what? Gifts? You know what a pain in the ass it is to hunt down the perfect gift for everyone on your list? I love giving gifts but Christmas is pretty much one big chore.


Halloween is where it’s at.


I’m not just in love with it. I’m obsessed with it.


And thanks to being obsessed with it—my collection grows every year. By at least one of those giant sized storage totes. Anything and everything from more skeletons for the outside to more department 56 items for my halloween town on the inside.


It drives my husband nuts. At this rate we’re gonna need a storage unit by 2021 to hold it all. And I am here.for.it.


What are you obsessed with—aside from your business?


Is it your dogs? A collection of some sort?


And I mean truly obsessed with, not just in like with.


For example, I really like handcrafted soap. It smells the best and leaves your skin feeling AH-mazing. But I’m not obsessed. Therefore the amount of soap I own stays comfortably in check by fitting in one small drawer in my bathroom. If I was obsessed? It would probably need it’s own closet.


See the difference?


The connection I want you to notice with your own obsessions and likes is that what you’re obsessed with, grows. You want more of it. You can’t get enough of it. Your love grows. Your number of pets grows. Your collection grows. What you obsess over—grows. (Warning, this is also true if you’re negative AF and obsess over those types of thoughts but we’re not a coaching podcast so just don’t do that, ok?)


And I wanna know—are you obsessed with the right numbers in your business? Is your business growing in the right direction, at the pace you want it to—right now? An obsession with the right numbers would answer that question with an enthusiastic yes! But those business owners—especially those who’ve recently added a new revenue stream or who are in a period of transition—who answer no? Need to up their obsession game with the right numbers.


The number one reason I see for a new revenue stream or a newly transitioned into space, or a business in general not growing at a practical, desired rate (sorry 6 figures isn’t practical as it likely isn’t gonna happen overnight unless you’re doing some seriously illegal shit)—is because they’re trying to focus on ALL THE THINGS. And making things that aren’t that important, THE most important things. Shit like; the look of things, responding to non-important emails, tweaking that blog post for the millionth time instead of hitting publish, writing a blog post in the first place when that’s not how your audience connects or converts...you get the gist.


So if those aren’t the important things?


What are?


Here are the three numbers you must be obsessed with when it comes to your business in general—but especially when it comes to measuring the effectiveness of your marketing strategy + tactics:


How many potential clients have we reached out to this month?


How many potential clients are we in regular contact with?


How many good offers or proposals have we made?


Notice how not one of these three obsessions asks “how many likes did that one random stock picture of a styled desk get?” Weiiirrrdd.
